Vlechtwerk is a young vocal ensemble with a love for early music. In 2011, the members — then students of composition — discovered the music of old masters like Josquin des Prez and Carlo Gesualdo. After rehearsals of their college choir, they would gather to sing this centuries-old music. After graduating, they continued this journey of discovery as vocal ensemble Vlechtwerk.
Vlechtwerk aims to bring early music to new audiences, creating programmes that weave interlocking melodies from the Middle Ages and Renaissance with contemporary vocal music and original compositions.
