The VU Kamerkoor is based in Amsterdam and has existed for half a century. The choir has more than thirty ambitious singers: youthful enthusiasm and seasoned experience make up the magical mix. This variety extends to the programming, which makes room for both ancient and brand-new music, accompanied or a cappella. Since 2016 the choir has been led by internationally acclaimed conductor Krista Audere.
Recent highlights include singing with Capella Amsterdam at the Muziekgebouw, performing works by Bach, Händel and Britten, and a 50th anniversary concert featuring new commissions by four composers. The choir has toured to South France, Wales and Italy, and recorded Joep Franssens’ Harmony of the Spheres.
